A Day In The Life Of A Lamb- Mornings with Chrome, Part One
It was here that all the bad memories were furthest away- in the garden plot with her beside him as they weeded and watered and watched the plants. Fruits and veggies for eating, herbs for healing, and flowers for enjoying. Chrome said he could keep as many as he liked but he would be responsible for their upkeep and they would need to get him his own planters first.
“I want planters aaaalll over my wagon,” the tiny qunari proclaimed as he pointed to the little green shepherds hut Chrome and Mukuro had procured for him.
“There isn’t that much space inside, little Lamb, are you sure you want them everywhere?,” she ran her fingers through his unruly hair as she looked between him and the wagon.
“I can hang them like in the old woman’s shop! And put planters on the outside like those houses in the village! And and get vines and moss and stuff and-,” he started to ramble as Chrome nodded along. She smiled at his enthusiasm, such a far cry from the shy boy she found crying in the woods, and gave suggestions for how they could accomplish the more realistic aspects of her lambs wish. They walked hand-in-hand to her pale wood roulotte to write down their plans over cookies and tea. When they were finished they grabbed the old wooden pushcart and headed into the woods towards the village giving a wave to the upper windows of Mukuro’s tall, castle-like wagon as they passed it by.
